Sherri was born and raised in Colorado. She owned and operated a cosmetology business for 24+ years. For nearly 12 years, she also owned and operated a business for the import, breeding, competition and marketing of Friesian horses. After becoming a top Friesian horse breeder in the US, she is still recognized internationally. You can even see 2 of the horses she bred in the Catching Fire, Hunger Games movie.
For 4 years, in addition to the two previous business ventures, Sherri was the President and Co-Founder of the Colorado Friesian Horse Club, a volunteer position with the goal of providing events and resources for the local Friesian horse community.
During those previous 4 years, Sherri basically stumbled into the world of real estate, while becoming a Broker’s assistant, which enabled her to learn a lot about the industry.
In search of warmer climate and a change of lifestyle, Sherri moved to the DFW area in the spring of 2013. She immediately felt at home in Dallas, and after being introduced to the culture and personality of the diverse neighborhoods within the metroplex, as well as the peaceful feeling of the countryside horse properties and the beauty of the lakefront homes, Sherri realized she’d developed a passion for real estate and it was time to evolve from being an assistant, to being a licensed REALTOR.
Now, with so many successful real estate transactions closed in Texas, since Sherri obtained her license, it certainly goes to show that the specifics of the horse business, including creative marketing, extensive research, veterinary inspections and legal documentation, as well as purchase and sales negotiations are characteristically similar to those in real estate transactions, and were a positive contribution to Sherri’s transition into a real estate career, especially with regard to skilled negotiations.
Though Sherri will market your single family, modest neighborhood home like a rock star, or find you an apartment to lease while treating YOU like a rock star, Sherri seems to have found her niche working with farm and ranch, larger acreage and lakefront homes. Or rather, the niche found her, since she spent so many years in the horse world and managing horse properties, but she LOVES to glitz and glam it up for the luxury estates, just as much!
